B.Pharm (Lateral Entry)

Pharmacy

Master the science of medicines with the B.Pharm (Lateral Entry) program — a practice-oriented curriculum covering pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, formulation, and clinical practice, taught in fully-equipped laboratories.

Program Overview

The B.Pharm (Lateral Entry) program prepares students for careers across the pharmaceutical value chain — from drug discovery and formulation to regulatory affairs, clinical practice, and pharmaceutical marketing. The curriculum is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and is taught in modern, well-equipped laboratories where students spend a substantial portion of their coursework running real experiments.

Coursework covers pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical analysis, biochemistry, microbiology, and pharmacy practice. As students progress, they take specialised subjects in drug delivery systems, medicinal chemistry, pharmacovigilance, quality assurance, and clinical pharmacy — mirroring the roles they are likely to take on in industry or hospitals after graduation.

Practical training is central to the program. Students complete rotations in hospital pharmacies and community pharmacies, industrial visits to manufacturing plants, and hands-on projects in formulation development and quality control. A final-year research project, supervised by faculty, gives every student an opportunity to work on an original problem and present their findings.

Graduates of the program are well placed to join pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory agencies, hospital pharmacy, clinical research organisations, medical communications, or to continue into postgraduate studies. Alumni of the program currently work with leading Indian and multinational pharmaceutical companies.
