LLB or Bachelor of Laws or Bachelor of Legislative Laws is equivalent to a BA or BSc undergraduate degree and is the first step to an exciting choice of career possibilities in the legal sector. LLB course duration is 3 years during which it provides a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of law. LLB syllabus comprises courses such as Contract Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law, Property Law, Corporate Law, and Constitutional Law. LLB courses can be pursued by candidates who already have a bachelor’s degree or even a master’s degree in any subject. Many candidates who have pursued CA or CS also pursue LLB after completing their basic educational qualifications. There are different formats of LLB courses available, such as 3-year LLB, Five-Year integrated LLB, Online LLB, and LLB correspondence courses. The eligibility criteria for LLB admission is to complete 10+2+3, with a minimum of 45 percent marks in aggregate for the general Or OBC category, whereas it is 40 percent for SC/ST category from a recognised board.
An LLB is a perfect course if you aspire to become a lawyer or barrister. LLB degree not only prepares individuals for traditional roles as lawyers or solicitors but also unlocks opportunities in several legal and non-legal fields. Graduates can serve as legal advisors or consultants within corporations or other organizations ascend to positions of judges or magistrates, engage in legal journalism or academia, champion human rights advocacy, or analyse and research policies for governments or NGOs. Furthermore, it equips them for corporate management roles that demand legal expertise, such as compliance officers, showcasing the degree’s versatility and breadth.
The last 4 years in the college shall surely take me towards a bright future of mine. The key tool of the SLC is that it always keeps on engaging the students in various Competitions like Constitutional Debates, General debates, and Legal Quiz Competitions and many such activities. The Seminars by many renowned Social activists, legal Jurist, Former Judges of different High Courts, and Lawyers of High Courts and Supreme Court gives great enhancement to the legal knowledge of the aspirants. I am really blessed to be a student of SLC.
